The Kratos 5.5 is a rim brake, tubeless ready clincher wheelset.
The 55mm depth rim and straighr pull bladed Sapim CX-Ray spokes create an extremely aerodynamic wheel, but it doesn't stop with aerodynamics. The handling of the Kratos is what really sets the wheels apart.
The 27mm wide rim uses a strategic mix of standard modulus and high modulus carbon fiber to create a wheel that feels like no other when out of the saddle sprinting, accelerating out of a corner or rolling through in a paceline. Olympus wheels carry momentum like no other wheel on the market.
For increased strength and durability, the Kratos wheels are built on a proprietary hubset with 16 spokes on the drive side, where all the driving torque is applied, and 8 spokes on the non- drive side where the reinforcement isn't as necessary. The result is a lighter and more responsive wheel that stays true longer.
The rim braking surface is treated by using a special process to reduce heat buildup, virtually eliminating the possibility of failure. In addition to improving durability, this treatment also increases braking performance in both wet and dry conditions.
